I really need a cheap new car, any feedback on kia's and fords?
My car is a 1992 Camry and on its last leg. I don't have much money to put down and barely any for a monthly payment. I keep on seeing those Kia deals for $99 a month, and the Fords a cheap too, are these okay cars?- You get what you pay for, but if you want new I'd buy a Ford before I bought a KIA, if you want it to last a while, IMHO. - Kia's are Korean and it's a known fact that their resale & reliability are junk. Go for the Ford Focus. It was redesigned for 2008 and it looks good. Comes in coupe & 4 door

- Ok, Kia's and Fords are both ok, but be careful on the $99 a month claim. If you read the fine print, you could be surprised. Typically, you will see that is it $99*. * - With approved credit at 7 - 12% interest for 96 months that's 8 years! with $2500 down, cash or trade. Or, this $99 payment could be bi - weekly. I have seen this scam before, too. Check out edmunds.com. It has some actual people that test and own these cars with reviews and their testimonials
- First off I would not buy anything made by KIA Extremely low resale value and build quality. I am uming that ad was for a focus which is an alright car, however I am uming money is tight for you in which case I can not recommend buying any brand new car. Generally a new car will lose the value too quickly and without a huge down payment at least 65% of car price you will easily end up upside down That is you will owe more than you can sell it for if you can not afford the payments. As far as the $99 per month goes that is probably for someone with a really high credit score 720 or higher and is only for the cheapest model with no options and a manual transmission. The best option is to go for something that is at least three years old and in good shape. My personal recommendation would be the Honda Civic, the resale value is pretty good on this car and as long as the car is already at least three years old the bulk of the depreciation has already occured so it will be harder for you to end up upside down on it
- Both of them will put you in the poor house one way or another, I would look for a 2 or 3 year old Accord or Civic, much more reliable and will have a better resale value
- no clue about the kias, but the fords should be pretty good haven't driven one made in the last two years though. I believe the corolla is also $100 a month, and it will probably be more gas - efficient
- Buy a 3 year old used car. do not buy a new car if you can not afford one. There is nothing wrong with Kia or Ford cars but most of those $99 deals are short term come ons. You will get $99 a month for maybe 3 months and then your real payment will go up to $400 a month after that for the next 69 months
- ford stands for Fix or Repair Daily my dad says found on road dead kia stands for Killed in Action if i had to choose i would go with ford because they are the better of the 2 look into getting a 2nd hand car of your tight for money. you can save a ton of cash that way, and get a good car with low mileage
- I just bought the new ford focus and we love it. I traded in a van and got the most I could get for the trade and just stayed firm on what I was willing to pay a month. This car has a lot on it and without all the extras and the automatic trans you can get one of these cars for under 14, 000 and with a trade in and with fairly good credit a car payment of around 200 a month. I love the ride hardly any road noise and I heard the KIAs were bad on road noise and comfort. I am getting over 32 MPG and thats with it being an automatic. I have had a KIA in the past and some of the parts are hard to find and you usually have to order them from the dealer. I have mostly been a Chevrolet guy all my life but just buy a Ford focus 2008 and I promise you will love it
